In the present invention, there is disclosed an apparatus for wetting free-flowing bulk material, particularly fly ash from power plant filters said apparatus having gravity tube (9) for loose material and an annular nozzle (12) formed therefrom supplied with water from a surrounding split water chamber (1), the two parts of which can be moved relative to one another along a bulk material drop tube (9) and are fixed to upper and lower parts (13, 14) of the annular nozzle (12). In the invented apparatus for wetting free-flowing bulk materials, having a bulk material drop tube (9) and an annular nozzle (12) supplied with water from a surrounding water chamber (1), the novelty is that (a) the outer wall (2) of the water chamber (1) is divided into two parts which are connected together by a flexible compensator (3); (b) the water chamber (1) has an adjusting mechanism (4) for moving the two parts relative to one another in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the bulk material drop tube (9); and (c) the annular nozzle (12) has separate upper and lower parts (13, 14), the upper part (13) being fixed to the upper part of the water chamber (1)through the mediation of said drop tube (9) and the lower part (14) being fixed to the lower part of the water chamber (1).
