摘要
The invention refers to a triploid, three-lined monogerm variety of sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L. var. altissima Doell) named Andra, obtained through the cross-breeding of a simple, androsterile, monogerm diploid hybrid, with a saccharated, tetraploid multigerm pollinator, recommended for cultivation in all pedoclimatic conditions specific to this plant within our country, intended for industrial processing. This is the first sugar beet variety created in our country based on androsterility. Its shrub is semi-erect, medium sized, the leaf limb is elliptical-oblong, medium sized, has a slightly pointy top, of normal green colour, with dull reflexions. The fruit is the light-brown monocarpic-monogerm glomerule in proportion of over 95 percent. The fruit is flat and round. The weight of 1000 seeds is 10 ... 12 g. The root is white, cone-shaped, with superficial lateral ditches. The pulp is also white, and the colet is small and slightly raised above the ground. It is a variety with a mid to late season ripening, with a vegetation period of 180 days, highly tolerant to cercosporiosis and a low sprouting degree throughout the first vegetation year. It has a sugar content averaging between 14.5 and 15 degree S non-irrigated and between 16.5 and 20.5 degree S irrigated. With root productions averaging 62 and 72 t/ha irrigated and 43 and53 t/ha non-irrigated.
