The invention refers to a variety of autumn wheat (Triticum aestivum var. erythrospermum L.) named Alex, obtained through hybridization followed by a yearly individual selection, which is recommended to be cultivated in the western and southern regions of our country, in order to be used for milling and bakery. Alex is an intensive, precocious aristaed variety with a vegetation period of 253 - 258 days, which has average resistance to mildew, brown rust and yellow rust, is tolerant to fusarium, scorching heat and draught, and is resistant to in-ear germination. It is a variety with good milling and bread production properties. The grain contains 29.79 percent humid gluten, 10.48 percent dry gluten and 14.59 percent proteins. The variety has generated productions of 6030 up to 9000 kg/ ha.
