The invention refers to a computer simulation method for artillery fire which consists of transferring the co-ordinates of a falling point (P) of a projectile from a real field image obtained by recording it in the screen image of the field, which is transposed onto a computer screen. The method has the following main stages: recording the image of a real field by photographic means, thus obtaining a digitised image of the field; placing this image on a military surface contour map which corresponds to the real field, by using the limits of field visibility in near plane and far plane from a command-observation point (P.O.), as well as some reference points (R.30, R.31, ... R39) which are visible in the field and are marked accordingly on the military map; building a land image digitisation network placed on the map; acquiring geometrical and altimetric data of the field; acquiring data about the technical and tactical conditions, weather conditions and ballistic conditions, and creating corresponding databases; transposing the digitised land image onto the computer screen; acquiring digital data about the field from the screen image of the field, and building mathematical models that are necessary for the simulation of artilery fires, in order to train and assess gunners during artilery fires.
