An explosive contains from 0.1 to 70 percent by weight of trinitrotoluene, from 20 to 90 percent by weight of PETN or hexogene and from 8 to 15 percent by weight of a binder composed of ureaformaldehyde or melamineformaldehyde polycondensate. In order to fasten polycondensate branching, the explosive may contain a hardener, especially ammonium chloride in the form of an aqueous solution.
