The invention concerns a method which consists in introducing, at a point (2, 7) in the network (1), relatively small-dimensioned bodies capable of being detected (6), to be carried by the liquid flux (5) to the different parts (3) of the network, and in detecting the passage of said bodies capable of being detected (6) in predetermined points (8) of the network (1). Each body capable of being detected (6) contains an electronic "chip" associated with an antenna, for being detected by electromagnetic method at the points (8), equipped with suitable detectors connected to a central computer system (9). The invention is applicable to the management of drinking water distribution and sewerage systems.
