The present invention relates to a device in a safety switch. The device (1) comprises a contact arm (2) and a latch (3) cooperating with the contact arm. The latch has an integrated spring portion (30). The invention also relates to a safety switch utilising the device. The safety switch comprises an operating handle (11) for manual switching on and off of the safety switch, the above-mentioned device (1) for closing and opening an electric circuit through the safety switch, a handle link (12) which connects the operating handle to the device for transferring a motion from the operating handle to the device, and a housing in which the parts included in the safety switch are arranged.
