The organiser incorporates a first storage device in or on which in use, a part of the exposed piece of each optical fibre (7) can be stored in one or more loops (9) so that the spiral turning is virtually completely removed from another part of the exposed piece of each fibre a maintaining device, in use, maintains the removed spiral tubing in the loop parts of each fibre. A second storage device, in use is incorporated in or on which at least one part of the non spirally turned parts of the exposed piece of each fibre can be stored. The second storage device is separated from the first. The maintaining device incorporates a number of incisions or other openings in which the optical fibres are maintained in use. A base is provided, to which the first and/or second storage device(s) are fixed during use.
