PROTECTIVE DOME FITTINGS OF LOW TYPE FOR EASTERN NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS

A protective system for nuclear power stations is in the form of an enclosing structure with heat resistant inner walls preferably fastened to a truss construction and optionally formed, in the region of the preferably dome-shaped cover, as hinged parts which open outwards especially against spring force. The novelty is that (a) the structure has an interior height (H2) which is two to five times the height (H1) of the enclosed power station (3); (b) the inner walls consist of reinforced metal plates or composite constructions which are peripherally enclosed at their outer faces with tensioning elements, e.g. ropes or chains; and (c) the cover is optionally formed by plates (6) having weak points or by hinged flaps.
