TO REGULATE THE COMBUSTION AIR FLOW OF A SMOKE DETECTION DEVICE (1) OF A METALLURGICAL REACTOR (2) THAT INCLUDES A COMBUSTION CHAMBER (49 SUPPLIED WITH AIR BY A VARIABLE FLOW FAN (9), SET A C0 REFERENCE VALUE FOR OXYGEN CONTENT IN SMOKE IN THE EVACUATION CHANNEL (5), THE OXYGEN CONTENT M1 OF THE FUMES IS MEASURED AT THE OUTPUT OF THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER (4), BY MEANS OF C0 AND M1, IT IS CALCULATED A REFERENCE C1 OF VARIATION OF COMBUSTION AIR FLOW, A REPRESENTATIVE MAGNITUDE OF GROSS VARIATIONS OF UNBURNED GAS FLOW IS MEASURED AT THE OUTPUT OF THE METALLURGICAL REACTOR (2) AND A C2 REFERENCE OF COMBUSTION AIR FLOW IS CALCULATED TO OBTAIN COMPLETE COMBUSTION OF UNBURNED GASES IN THE SMOKE; VALUES C1 AND C2 ARE ADDED TO OBTAIN A COMBUSTION AIR FLOW REFERENCE THAT IS SENT TO THE FAN REGULATION (9); THESE CALCULATIONS MAY BE MADE BY ELECTRONIC MEANS (14 , fifteen, 16).
