Especially designed for zones of pressurized atmosphere in space vehicles and stations where the phenomenon of convection of the air originating from the variation in density thereof as a function of temperature is not present, it consists of two parallel walls 1-1' between which there is a space 3 containing confined air acting as actual thermal insulator, the aforesaid walls 1-1' being lagged both on their inner face and on their outer face with a layer of a material which is highly efficient at reflecting infrared radiation. To this end, each wall 1-1' may be embodied as a thin sheet of polyimide or polyester with its faces having been given a covering 2 based on aluminium coating by means of deposition. IMAGE
