THESE COMPOUNDS ARE USEFUL IN DIFFERENT INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS, INCLUDING BLOWING AGENTS, REFRIGERANTS, STERILIZING GASES, AND APPLICATION AS SOLVENTS. DISTILLATION OF THE REACTION PRODUCT PRODUCES A DISTILLATE INCLUDING HCL, CHCIFCF {SUB, 3}, CHF {SUB, 2} CCIF {SUB, 2} AND CHF {SUB, 2} CF {SUB, 3}, AND A MINIMUM AMOUNT OF HF, WHOSE DISTILLED IS PURIFIED TO ELIMINATE ACIDS. THE RESIDUAL PRODUCT INCLUDES PERCHLORETHYLENE, HYDROGEN FLUORIDE, AND ORGANIC BY-PRODUCTS, WHICH ARE SEPARATED IN PHASE TO SEQUEST THE HYDROGEN FLUORIDE PRESENT IN THE MIXTURE OF PERCHLORETHYLENE AND ORGANIC BY-PRODUCTS. HYDROGEN FLUORIDE, AND THE MIXTURE OF PERCHLORETHYLENE WITH ORGANIC BY-PRODUCTS, ARE BELOW PREFERABLY REMIXED AT REGULATED SPEED, AND RECYCLED IN THE REACTION CONTAINER.
