The operation of fastening the end portion of acord-like body is facilitated, the operation is capable ofbeing automated and the end of the cord-like body iscapable of being secured in a reliable fashion. A cordtake-up reel comprises a winding drum having a flangeprovided on each end thereof wherein a window for receivinga resilient cord retainer is formed near the outercircumference of at least one flange of flanges provided onboth ends of a winding drum. The cord retainer comprises acentral retaining finger, a pair of fixing fingers, oneprovided on either side of the central retaining finger,and a connecting piece interconnecting the retaining fingerand fixing fingers. Distal ends of the fixing fingers andthe connecting piece are abutted against upper and loweredges, respectively, of the window from outside the flange,and the distal end portions of the fixing fingers arecrimped and secured by a folded-back portion on the outercircumference of the flange. The distal end portion of thecentral retaining finger lies on the inner side surface ofthe flange on the outer circumferential portion thereof,and the cord-like body is clamped and secured between thedistal end portion of the retaining finger and the innerside surface of the flange at the outer circumferentialportion thereof.
