In a method for azimuth scaling of SAR data withoutinterpolation, SAR raw data in azimuth are multiplied with aphase function H5(fa;rO), where fa denotes the azimuth frequencyand rO denotes the range to a target point. An azimuth modulationof the SAR data is subsequently adapted with the phase functionH5(fa;rO) to that of a reference range, in a manner so that theazimuth modulation no longer depends on the range and istransferred into a pure quadratic phase modulation in order toattain an azimuth processing with a very high phase accuracy, byusing deramping with an exactly linear frequency modulation andazimuth FFT.
