A method for chemically modifying wood with reactive aluminawhich consists of contacting said wood with aluminates chosenfrom the group consisting of sodium aluminate and potassiumaluminate in concentrations greater than 0.5%, withoutfungicidally effective amounts of anions fromN-nitrosocyclohexylhydroxylamine salts; and a method for thewood decay and staining protection which results. A method forexpanding the wood protection to prevent termites by addingethanolamine copper complexes.
