Invention comprises a lubricant for improving thegliding properties of skis and other items on snow. Thelubricant is constituted of four perfluorinated chainsattached to a hydrogenated core in a symmetrical arrangementin such a manner as to form a tetracis derivative according tothe formulaThe lubricant is often in a preferred form applied in additionto linear perfluoroparaffins of high melting points of thetype C16 - C24 in such a manner that blends providing optimumgliding properties are obtained with melting points below105°C.
