A mounting device for mounting a Christmas tree (40) on a wellhead (28) atsea, for use during a lowering of the Christmas tree (40) from a platform to adrilling template which is located on the seabed. According to the inventionthe mounting device comprises an adaptor (2) with end sections (4, 6) forconnection with respective sections (22, 42) of the drilling template and theChristmas tree (40). The end sections (4, 6) of the adaptor (2) comprisealignment bodies (14, 16, 30, 32) which are arranged for engagement withcoacting alignment bodies (18, 30) of the drilling template and the Christmastree (40).
