The present invention is a liposuction cannula having a water source, a lasersource, and a suction source. Water is released into an active area (14)within the cannula, and laser energy is directed onto the water molecules (WM)within the active area (14) to energize the water molecules (WM). Theenergized water molecules (WM) escape from the active area (14) into thesurrounding fatty tissue (FT) to break down the fatty tissue (FT), and releaseliquid fatty material that is removed by aspiration via the cannula.
