There is described a method and a device for sand flushing a gravitation separator for a hydrocarbon flow from a well. Flushing can be carried out by using sea water or by using the well stream itself. A sea water line (15) is connected to a water line (4) from a gravitation vessel (1) upstream of a reinjection pump (5) for water in the water line (4). On the downstream side of the reinjection pump (5), a line (12) runs back to a flush device (13) in the gravitation vessel (1). The flush device (13), with the aid of a valve-regulated line (14) from the flow line (7) carrying the well stream, is also adapted for using the well stream as a flushing medium.
