The invention concerns a method and a device for separating nonmetallic inclusions from liquid metals and a ceramic separator used to this effect. The invention is characterized in that the nonmetallic inclusions are separated on the walls of the spiral chute by permanently feeding the metal flow on a circular or spiral track. The particles which are specifically lighter than the fluid are separated primarily on the radial inner walls.
