Direct extrusion press of the short-stroke type having the billet loader integrally mounted on the press itself

A direct extrusion press is described for billets (10) of non-ferrous metal, in particular of aluminum, of the so-called "short-stroke" type, wherein the loader (5) of the billets is integrally mounted on the press itself and is also rigidly integral, in its transverse movement with respect to the extrusion axis (X-X), with the punch carrier (2a), being mounted together with the latter on a single slider (3) movable with respect to the press in a plane orthogonal to the extrusion axis. A pushing means (6, 16) is provided by either a double hydraulic cylinder device (6) which is also mounted on the slider near said loader, or by a chain device (16) controlled for an alternating movement by means of a hydraulic actuator having a pusher means mounted thereon or a "porter" suitable to exert its action onto the bottom of the billet like, in the other solution, the hydraulic cylinder piston.
