Radio control signal transmission method for a personal digital radio communication system

A base station of a cordless telephone system or personal handy phone system (PHS) monitors time slots on control channels and transmits control information on a time slot of a channel that it determines to be free. This is then used as the selected control channel of that base station. The monitoring and selecting procedure is necessarily carried out when the base station is switched on and preferably at predetermined intervals or when a call set up fails. The procedure may alternatively be carried out at a cordless telephone handset.
