An improved method for successively analyzing individual blood-derived analyte samples containing glycated and non-glycated hemoglobin fractions is described wherein the sample-to-sample injection time is reduced to below 2 minutes. In the method, the respective samples are passed through an HPLC column (preferably a phenylboronate column) and non-glycated and glycated fractions are separated using appropriate mobile phases. The column temperature is maintained at a level above 50 DEG C and up to about 60 DEG C with mobile phase flow rates of from about 1-4 ml/min.
