The present invention seeks to provide an improved method and apparatus for flexible construction of modular electrical card rack equipment. It provides individually EMC-shielded modules and backplane and lightweight equipment carrier for improved system installation and maintenance. Improved module guide means permits insertion and retention of modules within the carrier substantially at one edge of the modules.
