The conversion system consists of an assembly with one body section (3) for the targa top configuration, having a rear window (9) and a supporting frame (17), a second body section (5) for the roadster configuration, and a supporting member (7) with the two body sections fitted on either side of it. It also has a carrier (43) and supports (47) with pegs (49) engaging with holes in the carrier or support, and a locking mechanism. An electronic circuit connected to the vehicle's battery prevents the lock from being released while the cabriolet is in motion, and prevents it from being started if the lock is not in its closed position.
