The invention concerns a method for the contactless determination of the dimensions of a human body and evaluation of the dimensions determined, in particular for preparing clothing and/or for medical - clinical purposes. Images of different sides of the body are prepared optically using projection technology and dimensioning lines are associated with these images. The dimensions and posture of the body are determined with reference to these dimensioning lines. The invention is characterized in that all these images of the human body are determined by imaging technology in a chronologically congruent manner in a recording moment and jointly displayed on a single imaging surface, whereupon all the images on this single imaging surface are provided with dimensioning lines individually adapted to the images.
