A photograph image printing system and photograph image printing machine for printing a photograph by simple operation. On an automatic setting screen (90), either the mode in which various selection screens, such as of voice guide, data read-in destination, index print, photograph selecting method, print size, and print confirmation are displayed and the user can make selection or the mode in which information to be selected is fixed and the display of the selection screens is omitted can be set up. If, for example, the setting is so made that a memory card is always used as a read-in destination storage medium, any index print is omitted, all photographs each having a 4x6 size are printed on 4x6 photographic papers one by one, all operations are executed by only pushing a button reading, 'as usual', and by inserting a memory card, and necessary photographs are printed, thereby facilitating the operation by the user.
