A conduit repair apparatus (1) includes a carriage (2) constructed and arranged for movement within a conduit (HP), the carriage including a carrying frame (2) and a drive member (4). An expansion and brake mechanism (8) is provided on the carriage (2) which includes at least one radially outwardly directed force. A force applicator mechanism (7) is also provided on the carriage (2) to apply radially outwardly directed pressure and for rotation about an axis of rotation generally coincident with a central longitudinal axis of the conduit (HP). A method of repairing a conduit (HP) includes positioning a repair sleeve (9) into engagement with an inner wall of the conduit (HP) by actuation of the force application mechanism (7). Also, a repair sleeve (9) is provided for use in repair of a conduit (HP), the repair sleeve (9) includes a malleable repair sleeve (9) constructed and arranged such that an outer surface of the repair sleeve (9) can be firmly pressed into engagement with an inner wall of the conduit (HP) to form a seal therewith.
