An amusement ride for humans which is constructed to include a plurality of separate tracks (10) located in a side-by-side relationship. On each track (10) is located a vehicle (12), with this vehicle (12) including a propulsion system which is activated and controlled by a human operator located within the vehicle (12). The vehicle (12) is mounted in conjunction with a track (10) which keeps each vehicle (12) confined to its particular track (10) and permits the vehicle (12) to move between a Start position (14) and Finish position (16) on the track (10). Associated with each track (10) is an automatic brake system (26) to stop the vehicle (12). Each track (10) is composed of a plurality of separate guide rail sections (34) which are located in a spaced-apart arrangement with the separate guide rail sections (34) being mounted in an in-line manner within the track (10). A guide blade (28) is mounted on each vehicle (12) and is to connect with each of these guide rail sections (34) as the vehicle (12) moves along the track (10).
