The cable protector consists of a polyethylene tube with a lengthwise groove (4) along one side and a slit (1) along the opposite side which opens by virtue of the groove to allow a cable (6) to be inserted into it. After the cable has been inserted the free edges of the polyethylene tube return by elasticity to their original positions, closing the tube or, for additional security, the edges can be overlapped, clipping together by means of an L-section lengthwise rib (5) inside one edge.
