A method and apparatus for loading a cache memory in an information handling system of the present invention includes a processor for processing a plurality of tasks consisting of a program composed of instructions controlled by a multitasking operating system. The task queue stores a list of tasks arranged in chronological order from the current task to the next task obtained by observing the order in which the tasks are already processed and the time when the tasks are executed. The task list is then used to predict when the next task should be loaded into cache memory before the processor completes the current task processing to prevent processor stall due to task switching.
