The present invention relates to a mixed extract of Aralia cortex and Phellodendron amurense Rupr cortex exhibiting antihyperglycemic activity. More specifically, the present invention relates to a mixed extract obtained by extracting a mixture of Aralia elata and Hwangbaekpi with water, a method for preparing the mixture, and an antihyperglycemic composition containing the mixed extract. The antihyperglycemic mixture extract according to the present invention was found to exhibit a marked synergistic antihyperglycemic effect due to the inhibition of chemical hyperglycemia of the arbor component and the promotion of pancreatic secretion by the improvement of pancreatic function of the baekbaekpi component. In addition, the blood glucose lowering effect of the mixed extract of the present invention exhibits a gentle lowering effect, not the same as a chemical hypoglycemic agent, while the blood glucose level does not drop below the normal range even in a large dose.
