The position of the control unit (13) is recorded and a screen template is activated which is specifically related to the operations at individual positions near each station. An Independent claim is made for the process equipment which includes sensors (17,18) or stroke measuring system for recording the position of the control unit (13) and feeding this data to the latter for activating station-related templates. Preferred Features: Screen templates may appear immediately a position is reached or through operation of a keyboard. Templates for controlling additional operational units either prior to or following the plant will appear when these units are linked to the plant control unit. A template remains on the screen until the control unit is moved to an adjacent station. When several pages of templates are related to a station the individual templates are called up by a keyboard operation.
