The detonation device offers increased security against premature detonation. The antitank or anti-vehicle mine (1) includes at least one explosive charge (3) which is intended to be triggered by a detonator (6) whose operation is controlled by an electronic circuit (20). The circuit is connected to a target detection device (25). There is also a device for confirming the presence of the target (18,19). This is deployed in the direction of the target by a small charge forming a projection device (23) but retained by a wire. The detection device may include an accelerometer, or a magnetic or electromagnetic sensor. Alternatively it may include an electric contact sensor, or two sensors of different types.
