The present invention discloses a novel method of tracking a weld line in an automatic welding apparatus. Conventionally, the tracking of the weld line was performed by measurement of the welding current, but the welding current was severely changed and ripple noise was included due to the movement of the arc.;In the present invention, the sampling time for measuring the welding current is synchronized with the weaving operation so that the welding head is sampled while the welding head is stopped at both ends, thereby preventing the welding current from changing and the noise from being mixed. So that accurate tracking can be performed, thereby forming a high quality bead.
