The present invention provides iron based metallurgical powder compositions prepared by mixing iron based powders with dibasic organic acids and improved binders / lubricants including one or more additional ingredients such as solid polyethers, liquid polyethers, and acrylic resins. These novel binders / lubricants provide one or more enhanced green properties for powder compositions and reduce the amount of protrusion required to remove the composition from molds and dies.
