The present invention relates to a common aperture dual polarization array comprising a vertically polarized antenna array providing vertical polarization and a horizontal polarization antenna array providing horizontal polarization. The vertical plate antenna array includes a flat plate shunt slot standing wave array including a plurality of sets of radiation slots configured in a staggered pattern laterally separated by an air gap. The horizontally polarized antenna array includes a plurality of baffles forming a collinear array of radiation slots, a strip reflector, and a short-back-fire antenna array. The call linear slot is disposed orthogonally to the radial slot of the vertically polarized antenna array. The feed network is coupled to a vertically polarized and horizontally polarized antenna array comprising a centered callline standing wave array of longitudinally arrayed feed slots coupled to a vertically polarized antenna array and a collinear array of feed slots coupled to the horizontally polarized antenna array . A plurality of baffles may be disposed adjacent the horizontally polarized antenna array to increase the effective aperture. The feed network may include an offset resonant diaphragm disposed in a rectangular waveguide, or a box stripline including a grain type stripline. The vertically polarized antenna array may further include a plurality of waveguide shots disposed in a gap between the sets of radiation slots of the vertically polarized antenna array.
