The present invention relates to an adaptive channel equalization method of an orthogonal subband reception system, wherein a group Gi is set by dividing Y samples on a frequency axis and X pilots are included in a group on a time axis within a group Gi. It consists of an update step (S4), and forms a group at sample intervals, and also forms a block around a pilot cell in the group, and equalizes valid samples in the block while updating a channel inverse function using a pilot signal in the block. In addition, it is possible to equalize adaptively to sudden change of channel and to effectively remove interference between samples in a symbol.
