FIELD: recovery to zinc from material containing zinc oxide and silicates. SUBSTANCE: as it follows from the claimed process, zinc compounds are leached under conditions when silicates remain insoluble and hence, there arise no filtration problems. Silicate-containing deposit is treated using Waelz method so that main bulk of silicic acid contained in silicates is bound to form cupola slag resulting from Waelz process, and zinc is directed for leaching substantially in the form of oxide. EFFECT: simplified process, reduced power consumption and improved ecology. 6 cl, 3 dwg
