SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of selection of cotton cultural strains exhibiting the important property of the mutation nature - early natural defoliation mediated by resistance to white flies (Bemisia tabaci, Trialeurodes vaporariorum) in combination with early ripening, high quality of snow-white color and ecologically pure (poisonless) cotton fiber. Method involves selection of the parent mutant forms exhibiting the high technological and spanning properties of the best fine-fiber strains and repeated treatment of cotton seeds of the strain "Genetic-1" with radiation mutagens. Then heterogeneous population is analyzed for families and progeny control by Pedigree procedure with respect to the appearance of the defoliation trait in combination with early ripening and high quality of cotton fiber. Method provides the selection of the order of defoliation and selection strains being the main of that is the strain "Genetic-39" or "Rainbow-39".
