FIELD: chemical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics and other industries; chemical current sources, material for negative of lithium ion cells. SUBSTANCE: proposed material is made in gaseous hydrocarbon atmosphere at temperature exceeding temperature of their thermal decomposition by forming layer of pyrolized carbon of high degree of graphitization with interplanar distance equal to 0.336-0.340 nm and size of graphite crystalline grains in direction square to planes equal to 50-200 A, on particles of nickel with dispersite of 0.1-20 m. Ratio of nickel and pyrolized carbon in material is 10-20 mass % and 80-90 mass %, respectively. EFFECT: provision of high grade material for making anodes of lithium ion cells featuring operation reliability and high capacitance (of the order of 300 mA-h/g) and steady operating characteristics at cycling. 10 cl, 3 dwg
