FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to synthesis of hexafluorobenzene and its mono- and disubstituted derivatives of the general formula C6F4XY where X - F, Cl, H, CF3,CCl3, CN, COR; Y - F, CN, H, Cl, CF3,CCl3, COR. Synthesis is carried out from the corresponding chloro-containing compounds by heating parent substances with alkaline metal fluorides in the presence of tetraamidophosphonium quaternary salt and a promoter. Heterocyclic or heterochain organic compounds, ethers or esters, organic acid nitriles, quaternary ammonium salts or their mixtures are used as a promoter. The weight ratio salt : promoter = from 100:1 to 2:1 but preferably = (5-20):1. The mole ratio of alkaline metal fluoride to catalyst is from 1000:1 to 10:1.
