FIELD: wind-power engineering; gearless windmills using wind energy for electric power generation. SUBSTANCE: windmill power unit that functions to transmit reaction of wind flow from windmill blades to electric generator has no converting and torque transmitting devices and is provided with horizontal shaft, air turbine, electric generator, control system, and windwheel; according to invention, it has central bearing, energy concentrator in the form of converging conical inlet diffuser, circular rotating windwheel rim connected to blades, adjustable valves providing communication of inner spaces of rim and/or blades with atmosphere; windwheel blades are arc- shaped with sag direction opposing that of rotation. Pneumatically controlled power transmission involves pumping of air flow produced in hollow blades due to rotation of windwheel through air turbine; according to invention, air stream is carried away by rotating windwheel over periphery and is passed through windwheel from periphery to center of revolution at pressure higher than atmospheric value. EFFECT: provision for uniform transmission of wind flow reaction, reduced mass, facilitated installation. 2 cl, 5 dwg
