SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of preparing a new regulating preparation "Glifur" that is a derivative of 1,3-dihydroxycyclanes-furfurylidene glycerol-1 that can be used in agriculture since it enhances the resistance of plants to drought. Glycerol is subjected for interaction with furfurol in benzene medium at molar ratio = 1:1 and at concentration of furfurol 25 mole/l in the presence of p-toluenesulfoacid as a catalyst (0.03-0.5% of total reagent content) followed by isolation of the end product as a mixture of isomers of the formula I (a-2). The preparation "Glifur" increases the resistance of summer wheat plants to drought and its yield as compared with control, shows the decreased toxicity and its effectiveness is equal to that of similar structure preparation "furolan".
