- In the production of multicoat lacquering by applying a base coat and clear coat to a substrate, which may have a primer and/or filler coat, (A) a coating pigmented with coloured absorption pigment(s) is applied before the base coat; (B) a base coat is applied, which contains pigment(s) obtained from the gemstone lapis lazuli with a particle size of 5-90 mu m and optionally effect pigment(s); (C) optionally another base coat containing effect pigment(s) is applied; and (D) a clear coat is applied in such a dry thickness that it covers any lapis lazuli pigment protruding from coat (B).
