Low and passive houses have roofs with a thermally insulating roof member comprising a concrete member (1) with ribs (1a) attached to layers of thermal insulation (2,2a). Pref. the shear forces of the upper roof structure (4,5) are transferred by plate members (3) into the lower supporting structure. The first layer (2) of thermal insulation may act as shuttering for casting the concrete ribs and is adhesive bonded to the other layer (2a) and the concrete structure is joined by mortar (1b).
