Automatic security storage vault for hire cassettes

The vault has a chamber (2) with a shelving area (4) for storage of cassettes and with a conveyor which is computer controlled to feed articles to and from the shelving area to the outlet area (8). There is a winch (9) to move the articles vertically (9), with a drive (26) for the winch. The winch assembly has a cable drive (25) with a winder (26) and a control to halt the winch at a set vertical position.
