The macroscopic system (1-3) transports goods, energy or information between at least two subsystems with the help of at least one body with inlet and outlet surfaces. There is at least one hollow chamber in each body, located between the inlet and outlet surfaces, and the body consists of metal which as such does not permit the transport of goods, energy or information. At least three hollow chambers in each body are arranged perpendicular to the transport direction and each chamber is of one-piece design. There may be three, five, seven, ten, fifteen, twenty, or thirty chambers. The mean chamber diameter is greater than five mm.
