The system for glass body (vitreous) surgery includes a hollow needle (10) in which at least one radiation conductor (16) runs, for laser radiation (18), with which the glass body is reducible and/or is liquefiable. At least one opening (14) is provided in the needle (10), through which in certain cases the reduced or liquefied glass body substance is extracted in the hollow needle (10). A unit (30, 36) arranged in or at the hollow needle, is provided for the coagulating of vessel contained glass body structures or retina. The coagulation unit is a radiation conductor (30) for the last radiation (36), which is effective outside the hollow needle (10). The coagulation unit is a diathermy unit (32, fig.2). The radiation conductor (30) for the coagulation is separate from the radiation conductor (16) for reducing and or liquefying of the glass body through the needle (10) and is led out from this.
