A constant quantity of the back-flushing air is passed through lines (5, 12) outside the blower (4), when the bag filter (10) dust removal phase is inoperative. Preferred features: At least one line (5) carries the air, both outside of and during the dust-blasting operation. The air is used for blowing-off, once the pressure in the tank (8) preceding the bag filters has risen to 1.6-1.9 bar.
